Tonight, Sony officially released a statement about the theft of more than 70 million members' personal information. Here is some of what they had to say: "An unauthorized person obtained player's names, addresses, birth dates, email addresses, passwords, login names, and online handles... ...Purchase history and credit card billing address information may also have been stolen. Although it has no evidence credit card information was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility." They have hired a third-party security firm to investigate and are completely reconstructing the PlayStation Network. They reported that the network should be online in another week at most.
